Ingredients
For kanda poha
- 2 medium size sweet potato
- 2 teaspoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 green chillies
- Roasted peanut powder
- Salt to taste
- Lemon (optional)
Method
- Grate the sweet potato and set it aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a kadai (Indian wok) over medium heat.
- Add the slit green chillies and cumin seeds to the hot ghee.
- Once the cumin seeds start crackling, add the grated sweet potato to the kadai.
- Mix the sweet potato well with the tempering ingredients in the kadai.
- Cover the kadai with a lid and let it cook for about 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, remove the lid and add salt to the cooking sweet potato.
- Mix the salt well into the sweet potato mixture.
- Cover the kadai again and let it cook for another 1 minute.
- After 1 minute, remove the lid and sprinkle roasted peanut powder over the cooked sweet potato.
- If desired, squeeze some lemon juice over the khis for added flavour.
- Give the khis a final mix, ensuring all ingredients are well combined.
- Your delicious khis is now ready to be served!
